Valerie Gay is Philadelphia’s newly appointed arts and culture leader. Philadelphia has a new head of arts and culture in Valerie Gay. This past week during a press conference Mayor Cherelle Parker announced the Philadelphia native will hold that title within.

Valerie Gay will serve as the City’s Executive Director of the Office of Art, Culture and the Creative Economy (OACCE). In a process of staining and soaking with fluid acrylics and then subsequently re-stretching the canvas, each material and technique is extended to its maximum potential.
